The Hidden Figures portion of the AFOQT measures your ability to find a ‘simple figure’ in a complex drawing. You have 8 minutes to answer the 15 items in this subtest.
Hint: Don’t let hidden figures drive you crazy. Familiarize yourself with this section and move on.
Above each group of questions are a set of figures lettered A, B, C, D, and E (the figures are shown several times on this page for your convenience):
Below this set of figures are several numbered drawings. Look at each numbered drawing and decide which one of the five lettered figures is contained in it.
- The correct figure in each drawing will always be of the same size and in the same position as it appears in the set of lettered figures.
- Start with one lettered figure of your choosing and look at each drawing to see if it contains the figure you’re looking for.
- Begin your search of each drawing by attempting to locate your figure’s defining angle(s).
Answers: 1: A, 2: A, 3: E, 4: D, 5: C
